Media Release - International Men’s Day and the ABC Giving Tree

On International Men’s Day most of Tasmanian Men’s Sheds Association’s Member Sheds will be going about their day-to-day work in their Sheds. Many will be working on Community Projects, some are making toys for Christmas gifts, some will be playing a game of crib while enjoying the companionship of their mates at the Shed. Some will be attending a ‘Blokes Breakfast’ in their part of the State.

TMSA President David Seen said ‘The theme for International Men’s Day 2021 is Better Health for Men and Boys and one of the best things that men of all ages can do for their health and well-being is to visit their local Shed. All Sheds are different but there will be one that will suit most men. Isolation is so detrimental to anyone’s health and there’s plenty of lonely men out there that will benefit from visiting a Shed.’

‘The Tasmanian Men’s Sheds play a very important role in their communities, and we decided today was the perfect time to donate to the ABC Giving Tree. We will be forwarding $1200.00 to the Giving Tree Appeal – this amount was raised by many of our Sheds’.
