DAVID SEEN

Through-out my working career which started in 1967, I was involved in purchasing, procurement, and customer liaison with major industries, based on the North and West Coast of Tasmania.

In 1995 I started my own business in Industrial component supply and manufacture. The business is still running today.

Joining a newly formed football club in 1971 as a player, I went on to be the first player to play 250 games for the club.

During the latter years I joined the committee and went on to serve as Vice President, also serving a year as stand-in Secretary.

I was a member of the Penguin State Emergency Service during the time it was active, I have also been a blood donor for approximately 54 years and have just recently completed my 293rd Donation.

I am married and we have two sons, supporting our boys through their sporting careers led me to become involved with the local basketball club and eventually becoming a committee member andprogressing to the position of Vice President. In 2007 I was recognised with “The Outstanding Club Person Award”.

In 2016 the Penguin Men’s Shed was formed and I joined and shortly afterwards was approached to take on the position of Co-ordinator a position I held until recently, as well as that of Vice President.

I was elected to the Tasmanian Men’s Shed Association committee in 2017 as one of the three representatives for the North-West Coast.

In 2018 I was elected as TMSA Vice President.

In December 2020 following the resignation of Keith Ellis I took on the position of President the position I currently hold.

I have also been involved in various Sub-Committees including the Organisational Review for TMSA.

I was the TMSA representative on the board of Council of Australian Men’s Shed Associations Ltd.

The national body of which TMSA was a member until earlier 2023, which saw the demise of CAMSA and the withdrawal of TMSA.
